The ESDC is a non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers. Our mission is to enrich Eugene’s dance community and to promote west coast swing and other complementary dances. (See our bylaws for more information.)

  • Every Monday night
  • Lessons at 7:00PM, open dancing from 8:00-10:30PM.
  • The Vet’s Club (1626 Willamette Street)
  • $5 members & students, $7 public.

Every Monday starts at 7pm with beginning and intermediate lessons. Often the Beyond Basics class is also during this time (starting fall 2014). The lessons are followed by a social dance at 8pm in the ballroom. Music played includes pop, blues, R&B, hip hop, country, and alternative. Admission cost, covering lesson and social dance, is $5 for ESDC members, Portland WCS members, Life Balance Program members, and students. Community dancers pay $7. Sign up for an annual membership for $30 and save $2 on each week’s admission, plus get into that night’s dance free. Membership is only $15 after July 1.

We also host quarterly events and workshops taught by some of west coast swing’s professional dancers. Check out our instructors!

Whether you are a beginning or accomplished dancer, if you love west coast swing we invite you to join! Membership includes discounted entry not only to all of our events, but to all of the Portland Swing Dance Club Events as well. We also offer subscriptions to the ESDC dance newsletter to keep you apprised of the dancing opportunities in Eugene and its surrounding areas.

COVID-19 Update: Dances on hold until further notice.

Dear dancing community,

We get it. Social distancing can be tough. We can’t wait to be dancing again with you, either.

Once we’ve made it through this difficult period and it’s safe again, we’ll be back in full swing.

Until then, we’ll be at home practicing those solo drills and watching the dance videos we always planned to.

Stay safe and well.
